Hi everybody;
I have a 2001 Yukon; unless I step all the way on the peddle, the car will almost not accelerate !! then suddenly it will !! ... it feels exactly like a turbocharged Vehicle!!... except its not :D I have the yellow check engine on for about 2 weeks.. any ideas ?
BTW: I've noticed that the sudden acceleration occurs after the 3000 RPM barrier

Get to an auto zone or parts store and have them scan the truck for codes, then post the codes on here or google the code it throws to find out what the hell is going on with your truck. Probably not a good idea to stand on it until you know what's up.

my guess, based on what you are saying is tranny slipping... however like boost said, go to your nearest auto parts store ASAP and have them pull the codes, than look those codes up.

On top of that, check for vacuum leaks and bad plugs / wires. My Civic did that.. found it was a vacuum hose that came off and it needed new plugs / wires. :)

Yep, I think the guys are right, have the codes pulled. Post back here when you have the codes and let us know what you find out.

the problem is that I'm in almost in a remote area .. there is only one place to take the truck to, you can imagine how the service would be !! there asking for 347$ for just plugging it!!
forgot to mention that the Oil pressure is almost at the highest it can read !!
should I go for it? I'm thinking of towing the car back and have it checked there ...
THNX; I really appreciate it :)

man that sucks, there isnt a single auto parts store.. for 347 bucks you can buy your own code puller and pull the codes yourself...

Might just be low in tranny fluid, that wouldn't be the cause of your engine light but would cause your driving problem.

A big possibility that your MAF is going bad.... Try cleaning your MAF sensor with a MAF sensor cleaner. Autopart stores sell these cleaners. If your Yukon performs better, then you've found your culprit. ;) I had a similar issue with my 99 tahoe.... i had similar symptoms as you are describing. My tahoe would act if my tranny was slipping. The 'SES' also came on. The code was 'MAF sensor out of range'. My mechanic said the MAF was eFFed up. He replaced it and those symptoms were gone. Good luck ;)
