Gas cap looks fine and I didn't hear any leak in any vacuum lines. I don't even know where the evap can is to check cracked lines. If any of you have had this problem or know where to look please help. Thanks in advance :D Patrick

did you happen to fill up your gas tank with the engine running? when i was a mechanic it was one of the the most common reasons people had a check engine light come on.

Don't think so. I know I didn't do it today and today is when the light came on.

Mine came on a while back same thing - and went away on its own - i didn't replace the cap it seems ok.. not sure but the light did go away on its own - might just need to tighten the cap down a little more.. ?

my cap is going on 10yrs old.. so it probably is just the cap itself.. - but i also kinked the evap line going to the gas tank thought i might have put a small hole in it, but since the light turned off i'm not going to drop the tank to look at something that may be perfectly fine (i un-kinked it right away and was like NOO.. - the main reason i don't like droppin the tank myself - the 2nd time i dropped my tank i forgot all about the pressure sensor in the back of the tank (98-on, 97down doesn't have to worry about this) and when the tank went down the pressure sensor snapped - i put it back in with super-glue this worked for 2 yrs last time i dropped the tank i replaced it $43.99)
