Besides putting an aftermarket dvd/cd player in the Tahoe what other cheaper/easy options have you done to put a dvd player in your vehicle? I am looking to get something to play dvd's for my son in back. I am thinking the easiest/cheapest route may be those dvd players that just strap to the back of the headrests, but I am looking for something a little more "nice." I have seen the ones you can mount on your roof but I have a sunroof in my Tahoe and not sure how those would work? How do they mount on the roof anyways?

Also, if you have pics of your install that would be appreciated.

Thanks

If you're going to do the ceiling mount, I suggest you have a shop do it (unless you're really familiar with headliners, and possibly talented with upholstery).

But then, that's not a cheap option.

Cheapest option is getting a 7" LCD mounted in a headrest that has the flip-down DVD player. A little more expensive, but even more "stealth" install. This one is $150 with $7 shipping:

Another option if you're more DIY is to get a cheap LCD with a headrest kit and wire it up to a portable or small form-factor DVD player mounted under the seat or just tuck it away in the storage pocket in the seat.

In that case, worst-case scenario:

- $80 for LCD
- $30 for DVD player
- $20 for AC/DC converter
- $20 cabling
- 2-3 hours of time installing
