cat converters

engine code indicates coverters? is there anyway to confirm this? can i cut the coverters out? what is the potential harm if i do cut the cats out?

Bring it into the dealer and have them check....if they are the cats, they will replace them.

does anyone know if you can cut out catalitic converts or not!!

Yes you can cut out the converters......Just keep in mind you won't pass inspection down the road, you'll be considered an azzhole by environmentalist's, and your exhaust will probably be to loud. Other than that....have at it sparky :thumbsup:

Not to mention seriously screwing up your A/F ratio cuz the computer will try to compensate since there's O2 sensors before and after the cats.

I have my cats cut off, and it will trigger your check engine light to come on, unless you buy O2 simulators. Yes it will make it much louder, and you will be able to smell more fumes. I have true dual 2.25" piping no cats, to dual dynomax racing bullets out 45 degrees, and it's one of the loudest trucks I have ever heard.
