I'm looking for a 2000-2006 Tahoe (they're within my price range) for the purpose of towing a family trailer short distances, plus a long run from Dallas-Albuquerque-Salt Lake.
In looking over the threads, I see that the 5.3 engine is recommended. Does that come with the towing package?
What are common problems I should look for pre-purchase? (E.g., I used to drive a '93 Explorer and their strut rod bushings always failed early. Once they were replaced, you were all set.)
Also, I'm thinking I should upgrade to synthetic transmission fluid first thing. Anyone done that and can testify to the value?
