How can a vechicle have a theft history, but yet the title still show "clear"? I am looking at a 2007 LTZ with 22k miles on it and the seller is telling me that the vehicle was stolen off the lot when new(prior to it ever being titled) and that he bought it after the incident (2 months later) as a new vehicle. I contacted the dealer and sure enough it matches the seller's story. How can this be? I guess several new cars were stolen from the lot one night and were found the following day with very little to no damage. Can a dealer still sell vehicles like this as new?The title check completely states "no findings" but under the complete history, it shows the date of when the theft recovery occurred. the seller is the orig owner and purchased it new with GM employee pricing, so it obviously didn't matter to him.

Even though it's got every option/color combo I'm looking for, should I just pass on it?
