Hi

Cracked the back up camera lens (just the small outer glass fisheye) of my 2014 Tahoe. Camera still "works", just totally blurry.

Dealer says the only way to replace it is get the whole rear hatch section (holds the camera and has the Chevy logo on it) for $470 and it would have to be painted and installed! Can't believe there isn't an alternative. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

found a cheap, temporary solution....took the lens apart of a front door type "peephole" from the home center ($6). Unscrewed the cap and there were 3 different plastic lens. Used a little putty to try them out and found one that works pretty good.

Still seems like you should be able to get a replacement lens for cheaper than a whole rear panel.

My back up camera lens were also cracked and I considered the fix of $470 is really too expensive, and I asked my friend if he can do something with that. He did it for 10$!
He basically also took the lens apart, unscrewed the cap and used a little putty. Basically, it is temporary fix, but it works! :peace:
