I have a 2002 Tahoe 4wd. I just repalce my rear brakes, pads and rotors. I'm aware there are two different size rotors and I have the correct ones. But here's my problem:
Now when I drive and take a turn my back wheels act like they want to lock up. They fight it. There is a "shimmy in the car." The a wheels act like the lugnuts are not on tight. There is resitance in turns. Now the Tahoe is making loud "pops" comming from the rear. It sounds like suspention pops.
I'm in 2 wheel drive mode. Buy you know when you put your car in 4wd and take a sharp turn on dry pavement? You know that sound? That what the rear is acting like in 2 wheel drive.
My lug nuts are tight. My tires and wheels are true and fine. There is not any dragging from the brakes. The temperature of the rotors are not hot. I know the brakes aren't dragging. But there is something obvioulsy wrong. Could I have put the car severly out of alighment by jacking it up? Did something go wrong with the differential? Any thoughts are welcome and appreciated.
