Brake Light Problems

I have an 05 Tahoe. The tail lights work, turn signal work on both sides. The brake light works on the drivers side. No brake light on passenger side or top 3rd light. I have checked fuses and replaced bulbs.

I was checking the forums and it seems everyone is having both lights out.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I don't have wiring diagram, so just guessing here... If one brake light is working, then I would assume the brake switch is working. That leaves wiring from the pedal to the rear lights. Have you done any work to it recently? Taken rear interior panels off or worked under along frame or rear bumper? (might've wiggled something loose...) Do you have trailer wiring harness? On many vehicles these cause problems, might want to look over where that splices into the rear harness, check for corrosion or loose connections.

there is 2 fuses for the brake lights, but its not a left/right . one is stop and i cant remember the other. the 3rd brake light uses a different fuse than your 2 rear brake lights. if 1 is working i would look for a pinched wire or wires rubbing together.

Brake light circuit goes through the turn signal multi-switch, I had the problem you are having on my Bravada, if I jiggled the lever you could get the light to come on, I needed to replace the multfunction switch.

I had this problem not to long after i got my 05 i dont remember what was wrong with it I took it to the dealer and they fixed it under warranty.

Check with dealership and give them vin number and they can help you.
