bose navigation discs

Hey all, I have a 2005 Chevy Tahoe Z71. My tahoe has the Bose audio and navigation system installed. When I purchased the truck (used) it didn't come with the navigation discs. We are taking a long cross country trip in May and I'm trying to determine if it's worth purchasing (considering phone technology/gps). Is there any recommended places to buy them and what is the price? Also I do not have OnStar activated either so I'm not sure if needs that to operate. Overall I'm happy with the sound system, just trying to determine if it would be a beneficial purchase. Thanks
