I like the AEM intakes, but I would say K&N, I just helped a buddy install one on his 08 Denali and you definately notice the difference. Also K&N practically invented the custom Air Intake market. Good Luck :Chevy:

The aem not only filters better but it is also a synthetic filter that flows better than the k&n without the need for oil. I could have bought any intake but chose the aem based off dyno results, design of kit, and the parts associated. We carry afe, k&n, air raid, volant, s&b, etc at my work and I went aem. Research which system is best for your needs but I'll stick to my brute force

For sure best to do the research yourself and base the decision more fact then word of mouth.

I am a big fan of the S&B intakes. I ran one on my ford f-350 and really liked it.

How can the AFE magna force stage 2 say it will give an extra 50 hp.That is crazy as hell. When even K&N only says 15 hp but I do like the stage 2 with the enclosed filter. For $455 thats a little much, has anyone used these

The afe claims are based on an engine fluid dyno and not a conventional means of baseline whp vs modified whp. Afe flow tests everything at 1.5 h2o and has come up with some goofy numbers even though it is a proper means of measurement. I would look more at the real world test results for each manufacturer as some companies can provide information which is easily misinterpreted.

:iagree: Yea, definitely look at real world numbers, and if comparisons are available, look at those. i.e. baseline stock rwhp/tq on chassis dyno compared to rwhp/tq on same dyno with intake installed. S&B had comparison charts available that not only showed peak numbers, but the entire rpm range, which is why I chose the S&B system. Plus it is an enclosed system and has a composite tube rather than metal, which helps to keep the incoming air a few degrees cooler.

I have an Airaid MIT (uses stock air box, just replaces the factory silencer tube from the MAF to the t-body) on my Sierra 6.0. I got it for a bit less than $100 shipped. I do notice some extra noise, hard to say if I gained any power as the truck weighs 5740 lbs. I'm not sure if an extra 7-10hp would really push the truck any harder when it weighs so much to begin with, but i like the old school sounding induction noise :cool2:.

I have a TrueFlow intake and it's similar to the Airaid MIT in the previous post.
I also have an Airaid Throttlebody Spacer. I've gotten 19.5 MPG on an all highway trip. I've had this setup for almost 2 months.

I had an AIRAID on my last truck and it worked very well. I put a K&N 77 on my Tahoe a few weeks ago, and I love it!
