before I order 24's

What do I need to know before I order 24's i dont plan on dropping my tahoe right now maybe in the future but if I do only like a 2-4 What offset do I want and what size tires should I get I dont want to low profile before we have lots of road construction so I dont want any bent rims thanks for your help

Stock offset is +31mm.

i have 305/35/24 with a 2/3 drop and it is perfect!!
