Alright. So, I'm going to be getting a tune from Justin some time after the first of the year, I hope. Since I live up at altitude, my options are 85, 87 and 91 octane, classified respectively as regular, mid-grade and premium.
I'd probably have to start running 87 octane anyway when I get the tune since I drive down to sea level alot in the summer, so is there any additional benefit to just going full-bore and getting the 91/93 octane tune? More power? More responsiveness?
Boost, I know you got the premium tune and say it's night and day from the OEM tune...but does anyone know how a high octane tune compares with a regular octane tune? If it makes any difference, I'd like to run an intake, flowmaster muffler, and a TR220 cam eventually, just not sure when I'll have the monies to pull that off. I'd probably want to rebuild my tranny around the same time I do the cam, and I'm a poor bastard until I get a better job.
Jenna, any input on this based on your experiences in the past?
