I keep having a creaking/squeaking noise (hard to describe) when I go over a speed bump or hit a low spot in the road coming from the back end of my 2004 Tahoe (34k miles). It doesn't do it when I'm going fast or hit a pothole or anything, its like if I'm going 20 and go over a big speed bump or hit a low spot in a parking lot. Any ideas? I don't know how to describe it to the dealer. It will also do it when the back end goes back down after heavy breaking. Help  ?

I have the same problem. I have heard that it may be the anti-sway bar bushings , when they get dried out. Not sure , just throwing it out there. I have just been to lazy to get under there and check it out......anyone else have any ideas ? I would like to get mine resolved also.

If you are taking it to the dealer, just have the service writer go for a ride with you. Pinpoint the noise to him and then he can show the tech. We have these cool required gm "ears" that have six clamps and are wired to a set of headphones. The tech can place them at various points and pin down that noise. Sometimes they can be a beotch to find but any dealership worth their salt will find it for you.

what dealership you work at? i want to go there ..cause if that was the case in the dealerships i would have my tranny fixed correctly the first time and not 20 k ago and not have to have it repaired 4 times due to installation screwups and my list can go on all night :gy:

The last time I took the tech on a test drive he asked if I had noticed it, I told him I hadn't, I asked him what it could be and he listed a couple things and said nothing to worry about? I should have told him to fix it right then but it had already been in the shop for a day. He didn't seem to want to bother with it.

I work at a bpg with caddy dealer. We are very high on quality and you would not have your tranny repaired 4 times with us. Not trying to brag, its still a job, I've worked here for a year, 10 years in the game total, and never been so impressed with the work my techs put out. I think thats why the lowest paid tech is 18.00 hr/ while the rest are over 20.

Yea, I'd be honest if we were crappy. I've worked at some other dealerships in NW Ohio and they were terrible. They wanted to pay 10/hr and have million dollar quality. It's nice to have free reign to do what it takes to make the customer happy here also. We just got the Caddy line just over a year and a half ago and we are still learing what it takes to be a high end dealer, gots a long way to go. Sorry about the thread jack

I wish we did, too. All of our dealerships are literally "stealerships" and way too commercial for the good of the customer. Come to find out I paid for a front end alignment and oil change last month, they charged me for both, put a new oil sticker on the windshield, and didn't do either of them. The only reason I know is I went to find out about tires this week and they told me at the tire place that I needed to have the front end alligned or my tires were going to wear out as quick as the last set. After hearing that, I looked and it had the Valvoline oil filter on there with 11/07 marked on it in sharpie, which was the last time I had it changed at Valvoline.

No more Team Chevrolet for me.

Thats exactly why we can't be that way. Your done there. You won't go back and I don't blame you. I wouldn't either. I value every customer because thats person is going to put food into my new babys mouth (in six more months!!). Now I'm not saying I won't try to get you to buy a 30k service, but if you did buy it, we would actually do it. Trust is a big issue with dealerships, always has been. We'll never get better with stealerships still pulling that crap.

Well I'm glad to hear there are some good dealerships left out there. I really trusted Team, I was pretty shocked. Looking back I think they did the same thing with my instrument cluster, I had it replaced at 22k and then it needed it again at 30k in December. I thought it was strange that it erased the trip computer and all the second time but not the first time  ...

Congrats on the baby, and guess what, I bought the 30k service a couple months ago. I guess I fell into the trap, but better to do it early than late, right :yesnod: ?

if they did it, it really is worth it. Working in the drive for ten years now I can honesty say about 90% of the people who do the recommend maintenance, spend alot less with me than the person who says I'm out of my mind for doing that and decline it.
