I am trying to remove the front driveaxles. I attempted to push-button shift into 4x4 to lock the front driveaxles so I could remove the flange bolts (near the inner CV joint) without the axles spinning ... but I am not having any success.
I can hear the usual clunk from the transaxle when I push the button that usually tells me it had shifted but the axles spin freely while the front driveshaft from the transfer does not move at all.
Does the front drive shaft have to rotate to fully engage the front transaxle or something?
1999 4x4 Tahoe, 350, autotransaxle with most of the front end disassembled.
Thanks!
