I got a 2007 Tahoe a month or so ago and it's now getting cool enough to use the heat here in TX. When I set the climate control to Auto and turn the temp up...the heat ONLY comes out of the floor and/or the front of the dash (where the defrost comes out)....NEVER out of the front outlets. If I turn the Auto setting off...it will then come out of the front outlets. Any idea if this is normal?

My understanding of the Auto setting is that it tries to get to the desires temp as fast as possible. I can't imagine that having the heat come out of the front outlests is less fast than the floor and the dash.

Thanks for any comments,

Rob

It is supposed to come out the floor and at windshield. It's operating as it should. Auto will default to the floor and windshield forheating.

The floor setting for heat is used because heat rises and in cold temps the feet tend to get cold. The winshield will tend to frost up as you breath the out and fill the cabin with moist air. The moisture is drawn to the cold (windshield) like condensation on an iced tea glass.

The vent is used primarily to cool. You can always set it to the dash vents if you want.
