I have a 2000 NBS Tahoe. You know the idiot/diagnostic light that shows an airbag in front of the person sitting with the seat belt on? It goes on/off sporadically. No check engine light or anything. It reads code B0040, Drivers Side Deployment Loop Resistance Low. The problem seems like it is in the seat area, sometimes the correct movement in the seat will cause the light to go off. I removed the seat and checked the wiring, everything looks normal. I wonder if it is the wiring under the carpet. Does anyone have any experience with this? Could it be a bad side airbag? I cant figure it out:mad:

Airbag Problem

I just realized if I lean way to the right, towards the armrest the airbag light goes off. Is there another sensor in the drivers seat that could be causing the problem besided the airbag itself? I want to get this thing figured out so bad!

What you might want to try is; disconnect the battery; wait 5-10 minutes; reach under the affected seat and disconnect the YELLOW connector; using compressed air, or blow hard, blow into the connector a couple times then reconnect; then reconnect your battery.

I have had to do this a couple times on some of out city's GM's and it worked 98% of the time.

My ruck is having the same problem but its the passenger side seat. Is there a sensor in the lower part of the seat somewhere? If you lean right in it it will go off but as soon as you move it comes back on.

My '05 yukon denali must have a sensor in the pass seat. When there is no passenger the mirror says pass air bag off. As soon as someone gets in, the mirror switches to pass air bag on. I'm assuming it senses the weight on the seat bottom.
