I've had my tahoe for a little over a year now, it's got 200K on it. I need to do the intake gasket cause it's leaking coolant. No problem there I'm a tech myself and have a tech 2 scan tool. My question is if anyone has played with the cam offset to see if it makes a difference in mileage or power. I checked it the other day and it was at -6*. I know the spec is 0 +- 3*. I also know if you go much more than where it is it won't run very good below 1500 rpms. Right now I'm getting 14 mpg just everyday driving. On a trip last summer we got 18.5 which I was amazed to get. Just wondering if anyone has tried this, I'm gonna give it a shot and keep everyone posted. It will be a long test though, so it will be a while before I get any results.

The timing chain's probably just stretched. I changed mine at 201,000 miles and the truck starts and runs better than ever.
