Air Conditioning not Turning Off

2002 Yukon 5.3. I noticed today that air compressor is not turning off. Well it will turn off when you do not turn the fan on. I can turn the heat all the way up and I can still hear the compressor kick on. The light on the ac button will go off and on when you press it but the compressor will remain on no mater what until you turn the fan off. Does anybody know what will cause this issue ???

i think i may have this same problem with my 04 LT

Is it on defrost? If it is then that is normal. It runs the compressor to take the moisture out of the air that’s blowing on the windows.

defrost is not on. compressor seems to run when i am just running regular vents
