I am new to the forum and need some advice. I am picking up my 08 Tahoe this week and want to throw some wheels on it and lower it. My question is, how much should I lower? I am going with KMC Empire 22's or the 24's. Here is a link to the wheels. I don't want to go extremley low but want to fill up the wheel well area a little more.

I recommend goin with 22's to save you some sidewall on your tires and ride quality. If you don't care about that go with the 24's because they will fill out the wheel well better. You could do a leveling kit or a 2"/3" drop would be good.

Not to hijack a thred, but can I put on a 2/3 drop and retain the stock 20s and stock tire size? With wheels turned, it seems that the tire is aweful close to the inner fenderwell. I'm looking to get the McGaughys kit. Thoughts?

To answer your question, YES, you can lower it with the stock 20's. You should not have any rubbing issues whatsoever.
