Has anyone added a sun roof to their truck? I screwed myself by buying a truck without one.

I know it probably never goes well, but has anyone added one? How much, what type, factory switch?

What about power lift hatch?

I have seen it done, but I would bet that it is a nasty little project *shudders*. As far as adding a power hatch, I wouldnt call that easy peasy, but I would think it would be easier then welding in a sunroof.

The sunroof is EASY, and it is done ALL the time. Dealers farm the job out to custom shops, many of which just do power sunroofs, and the final results are a power slider that looks factory and sometimes is even better--with things like auto close, rain sensors, etc.

Here's one of many brands used, with good pictures:

Another common brand is ASC. You can find installers all over, and generally the price installed is the same or not much more than a factory sunroof option.

As for the power liftgate...that's a big NO. It's more than just the mechanism, including different wiring harnesses, body computer programming, etc. This is one thing that can't be added, at least using factory parts, without a great amount of work and expense.

The rear hatch would be more money and trouble than it's worth.

Don't really need the rear hatch, just wondering how much trouble it would be. I will most likley pass on the hatch, but I am going to look into the sunroof more.

If anybody can chime in on prices or installers in NJ let me know.
