any tips on adding an aftermarket sub to the factory bose 9-speaker stereo? the stock sub in the center console is rather weak, particularly within the cavernous volume of the suburban body (!), so i'm thinking about adding an aftermarket sub & amp if i can find a relatively painless way of tapping into the stock system and not impact the operation of any of the other interconnected systems.
having run into integration issues while adding a sub to a bose system in a previous car, though, i'm wondering just how difficult it may be on the GMT900's. any input? are there any wiring harnesses out there that make this fairly easy, or is it a trial-and-error process? i'm by no means a car audio pro, and i'd rather not hack into the wiring only to end up with interference and functionality issues....but having a bit more bass sure would be nice! i have an older amp & 10" sub lying around in my garage gathering dust (nothing special - phoenix gold XS2300 amp, MTX 5000 sub, non-ported ~1 cf box) that i'd love to drop in there if i can find an easy way to do it. one 10 may not even do that much in something this big - it was originally in an acura RSX-S hatchback - but i figure it's a start....
thanks
