Hey everyone, Im new to the forum and excited to have all of this info at my fingertips. Anyway, on my 2007 tahoe ltz I just replaced my compressor because the old bearing went bad. Im assuming it was the clutch bearing but I am not positive. I ordered a new compressor, drier, and orifice tube from rockauto and got it installed by a shop. It worked ok for about a month and then one day it started blowing warm air. Then it started smoking so I shut it off. Im not sure if it seized and the smoke just came from the belt rotating around it or what. But now I hear a terrible noise from the clutch bearing everytime I run the engine. So whatever bearing is there went bad. What I want to know is if it was just a coincidence that the bearings went bad on both. I couldnt imagine that something else is wrong with the car. Im hoping it was just a defective unit. any help is much appreciated. thanks
