Hi,
I have a 07 Tahoe z71, It is a recent purchase. I am done with the outside mods for now and I am about to begin working on the audio system (my favorite part) and I have a few general questions. I have read your threads and you guys seem to know a lot about the outs and ins of the vehicle. Some help and answers to these questions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time.
** I have the GM factory Navigation system and Rear entertainment DVD, and do not wish to remove the factory GM radio/NAV system**
This is the plan that I have so far , but there are a few holes in it.
2- Rockford Fosgate 12inch p3 power subs
1- ______- @ min 1,000 watt sub amp,(looking at a rockford or something reputable?
1-Yellow top or deep cycle battery , in battery holder under hood to power
Questions---
I notice when I max out the volume on my current bose system, its loud but its not LOUD as to the point where it is too loud for extended listening for me.
1.) I am wondering if this will affect the increase in volume when the subs are installed, will the subs drown out the bose speakers at high volumes?????
2.)If I install a 4 channel amp and replace the 6.5inch speakers in the doors with something like Infinitys will help with achieving more sound AND good quality @ elevated levels WITH THE factory GM radio????
3.) Are there any tricks or wiring situations (besides removing the sub in the center console, that can be done to make this sound better WITH the factory GM nav head, eq,crossover,IDK ?????
4.) What is the best way to get the RCA jacks to your amp from the factory GM headunit/ bose amp???, I am old school , all I remember are "step downs" , I am sure there are better options now????
Any help is appreciated.
