A/C only cold at idle 2007 tahoe

Compressor turns off when rpms reach 1,000? please help

Have you recently done anything to the ac system like add freon ? Sounds like high pressure could be a restriction or if you added freon may be to much

Thanks. Did not add any feron or any work. compressor shuts down as soon as pressure gets about 160 on high side

Where is this switch located? jump in closed or open?

Its on the receiver dryer that is on the passenger side of engine compartment at the fire wall its a aluminum cylinder with ac lines going to it you should see a 2 wire electrical connector plugged into the switch disconnect it you can use a paper clip to jump it only use a small clip if possible don't want to damage the connector terminal

Thanks. I jumped it, works now. Is that the high or low pressure switch on the receiver? Im goning to put the guages on it tonite. About what pressures am I looking for at idle and 2000 rpm? Thanks alot

Sorry for the late reply had a crazy day... its the low pressure cycling switch.. low side should be between 30-45 high side 140-190 if its low on freon that will also cause the cycling switch to open also
