I have had this truck since 2006, and have had a wild ghost issue with the reverse lights:

1. They come on perfectly when the prindle switch is in the proper location.

2. They are constantly on from the second I turn the running lights/headlights to the "on" position.

I have wired chased and tried to fault isolate this for hours, and am running out of options. I don't see any crossed wires, dirty grounds, or frayed wires anywhere around the light controls or the tailights themselves...

The only way I have been able to drive it for the last couple years, is by pulling the reverse lightbulbs out.

Please assist! :(

your best shot (because no one not even myself would know what your prob is) would be to take it the damm dealer or a local GOOD electrical shop and stop struggling for a inspection a shop should charge you like (65$ bucks at the most) and dealer would charge you at least 80$ so best shot if u wanna go cheap is a electrical shop!!!

I agree with Jounier. Mine is the common reverse lights dont like to go on unless I jiggle the shifter while in reverse. It's something to do inside the column around the connections. I heard from a friend of mine that the connections "shift" inside the column so it doesnt allow the connection needed. GOOD mechanical/electrical shops as stated would know what to do to resolve it for you.

Try taking the light assembly out (two screws) then un plug one side at a time and see if this causes the lights to go out if so you have narrowed to which side is the problem then check the bulb as it may be a double filament bulb which should be a single if so replace the bulb if not replace the little circuit board which the bulbs turn in to it's avaiable from most after market suppliers
