I have a 99 Tahoe 4WD 2 door with 205,000 miles on it. My fuel pump whines fairly loud. The other day, I tried to start it first thing in the morning and it wouldn't start - acted like it was out of gas. Tried this afternoon and it started right up. Is it possible for a fuel pump to go out and then work again? Any thoughts on what my next step should be? I don't want to get stranded on the roadside.
