Hi,
I recently bought a 97 Tahoe 5.7L for a $1000 a few months ago. It has 158,000 miles. It always had a rough start since I have had it, but just the other week it started to stumble through acceleration. I had to cruise up to 45 mph but I was at least able to get to school.
I have no $.
Summer school starts on June 10th
I took off the upper intake manifold (the black plastic one) and replaced the fuel pressure regulator and put everything back on. So I am hoping. I started the truck up, started just fine. . . .then died! Before it died I played with the accelerator and it sounded like it DID NOT want to hesitate this time.
I checked the Haynes book and it said to check to see if I might have put the evap hoses back to their correct positions. Then it said there might be an intake manifold leak or a throttle body leak.
Any suggestions besides burning it to the ground out at the levy?
I don't want to let this thing go and I sure as **** don't want to waste my financial aid money on a god damn import.
The fuel pump turns on. I don't know what the strainer looks like though. I replace the fuel filter. The only code that's on is O2 sensor. Upstream passenger side.
