Hello.....got another issue.

My drivers side window has fallen off its track.....so I took off the door panel and found that the power window 'lift plate' had basically corroded to the point of falling apart (no other rust on vehicle, go figure).

I have found various places that sell these lift plates but they sell them with no hardware. Looking at where the lift plate would set inside the window, I haven't a clue on how it should be attached and how it would be attached.

Has anyone replaced one of these ? I've searched youtube vids with no luck and fourms with no luck.

Thanks

It just dawned on me.....

I suppose this lift plate merely needs to be glued onto the bottom of the window and the lift arm does the work......in other words the lift plate is merely a guide ?

Perhaps go to your local glass shop and ask them?

There doesn't appear to be a separate part. It looks as though it is part of the assembly.

I don't know exactly how the Tahoe is but I have repaired several Porsche where this has happened and it is just a metal lift rail and rubber gasket pressed on to the glass. I thought for sure it was glued too but it is not. It is some sort of magic. What happens is the rail rusts and doesn't squish the rubber enough and the glass pops out. On a Porsche you can replace the gasket and the factory manual says just tap the new one on. Surprisingly I have tried and I couldn't get it back off. No glue, just clean the glass really well and the release agent off the rubber. Like I said magic.

I think it is glued to it on the Tahoe. I have done it before. Best to find the right glue, a glass shop will have it, and let it set up overnight before reassembly.

Gm has several different ways to attach windows to the regulators, IDR which the Tahoe uses, nor do I want to tear into one to find out, sorry. I would seriously inquire at your local auto glass shop....
