96 Tahoe not starting

Sons 96 Tahoe 5.7l, daily driver. Has been running fine, then all of a sudden Wed afternoon, it wouldn't start. Turns over, can smell the gas, but won't start. Bought distributor cap kit and changed it this afternoon, still nothing, just turns over. Wires and plugs were done recently also. Pulled out a spark plug and it is not firing. PLEASE HELP!!

Need more info.. is the ignition coil firing puul the coil wire from the dist cap hold it around 1/8 to a ground the base of where distributor hold down bolt and clamp are works good be best just to let it dangle there about 1/8 to a 1/4 inch crank engine and see if you have spark there..

Check coil output, also check CKP sensor in timing cover.

Also make sure rotor is turning...
