The seal was replaced on the rear output shaft of the transfer case and started to leak after only about 1500 miles. A new seal was installed last week. I noticed that the face of the drive shaft yoke contacts the seal at all times. See two attached photos. Is this normal? It seems this is a recipe for rapid seal wear.

The truck has 157k miles on the odometer. As far as I know, the drive shaft is original and has been in the truck at least since I bought it at 65k miles. This is the 2 door, 4WD 5.7L gas model.

Thank you,
Ken
