As the title state I have a 95 Tahoe LT that I just bought. It has the second from the bottom leaf spring broke on the passenger rear. I was wondering what other vehicles springs would fit it. I plan on hitting up a junkyard and plan on using both springs packs from the donor vehicle so that they each have the same miles on them. Do only tahoe's springs fit or how bout surburbans and trucks?

I have searched but didnt find much info on stock springs at all.:beerchug:

Thanks, Sean

I know that the 4 door springs are 54" and the 2 door are 52". I am not sure on the suburban or the truck.

Why not just get new springs, they're not that expensive. And contrary to what most people believe, springs don't last forever.

Where can I find a set of new springs and how much do they run. I haven't seen a full set yet anywhere stock height. Maybe GM but I doubt thats gonna be cheap.

I am scraping the money to get this together right now and think a junk yard going to be my friend.

Also I know they don't last forever but my hopes were to find a lower mileage donor.

But if you have a source for new springpacks for it please let me know.

this might sound dumb but I actually found a place in milwaukee, by searching for a spring shop in town. theres usually someone. They will make the leafspring custom for you, cause they are just a stack of metal and some fastners etc. not terribly expensive.
I got mine from Milwaukee spring and they were.... ( one sec, lemme get the file) 168.58 each.

so yeah. thats all I got on that. a receipt. memories of a dirty shop, and a dude stacking up leaves and making them by hand.

Thanks! Well that lets me know where I can find em. I still am leaning towards the JY.

From what I can tell so far though I may be out of luck since everything in GM's lineup (trucks, tahoe's,Subs) all have different wheelbases none of them match up. Should still be able to find a set just not as big of a selection as I wanted.

get the length and height right, you should be ok, just would sacrifice towing capacity, and ride comfort. try what you can get so you get back on the road safely.

We use a local shop that makes the springs. I'll see what they say, but I'm sure shipping would be brutal. Not sure where you live, but if you're in the rust belt you also better figure on all new fasteners and u bolts. We usually don't even get out the wrenches until we start putting in the new springs. Usually have to torch the bolts. I wish you good luck getting the used springs out as it can be a pain sometimes.

Thanks, yeah I know the springs can be a pain in the ass... I'm from missouri but believe the truck is from further south as it is pretty rust free even underneath it. Still planning on all new hardware though.
