4l80e swap-in

I have a 96 Tahoe 4x4 four door. I want to swap-in a 4l80e trans. Wondering if anyone out there has done or heard of anyone doing this before? Not sure what the issues would be with the transfer case? Obviously I would need a shorter driveshaft. Thoughts?

I use it as a work truck so I always have close to half a ton of weight in it. I also tow a trailer that weighs about three tons. I've done the so-called corvette trans upgrade but I've already grenaded the identical trans in my 98 safari. They have very small Planetary gears and I don't trust it to last, especially on a long summer vacation. I've swapped in a 14 bolt rear with 6 bolt axles from a "heavy half" Chevy truck so the trans is definitely the only weak link left!
