definatly get the 285's. I have 275's on mine right now and they look pretty beefy but I'm getting 285's soon. They'll look badass, trust me.

it depends on your suspension. i have noticed that every application is slightly different. 285's fit on the trucks for sure but we sit just a hair lower at stock height. last thing i want to do is clip the front bumper with a big knob thats why i'm gonna go with the hankook rf10's but i noticed that they are a very similar tire. ummmmm i think i'll go with the hankooks for $105 each opposed to the more expensive toyo (in P265's)

yah thats definatly a good idea. The tread is almost identical. do you know if they would be the same width?? cuz i like the look of the tires sticking out a little like the toyos would.

265 is supposed to be 265mm's across and they should be the same give or take a couple mm's. 285's stick out fo sure! i like the ballooned look like when you put a 33 12.5 15 on a 7 inch rim. 285 has the same look. but right now tirerack has some dunlops on closeout for like $110 each in a 265.

the only reason i'm gonna go with the hankooks is 1. its our main line and 2. we havent had and complaints on the rf10. but the only way the 285 is available is in a e load. i dont tow so its kind of an overkill for me and a big price jump up to $175 a tire.

Remember that a wide tire on a narrow rim may **** up the handling. The tire will move more on the rim and make the car more sensitive to road wear. I've got Cooper Disco ATR in 265/75-16 and I'm looking for 16x8 or 16x9 wheels. But I don't like wide tires on narrow rims on these cars. :)

Mr. Yuk, I noticed you work at a tire shop.. Have you ever seen a 285/70/17 on a stock height tahoe? I've been to a couple local tire shops and havent been able to get a definitive answer from anyone. I cant handle any rubbing and really dont want to do any trimming or lifting at this point. I've tried searching on here for fitment, but it seems most have 16" wheels. I was really hoping to order tires this week so any help or opinions you can give would be greatly appreciated

Depends on the brand of tire but they should fit with stock wheels. You may have to crank the tbars a hair and get it realigned if they rub. I did some bfg 285/70/17 km2 muds on a tahoe with just an inch of crank...I only had to trim a sliver off the front lower valance cuz they would occasionally rub while backing up.

I would go for 275/70-17 or 265/75-17 to avoid any clearence issues The latter being the safe bet. The car will fit 32/11,5-? or 295/65-17 without mods on stock or hubsentric rims.

I have been running 305/50 20's with no rubbing issues unless I way over steer while parking.

I just got 285/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers installed on stock suspension and have not rub at all. Perfect size without a lift IMO.

Do you by any chance have any pics of your setup, I would like to see how the truck looks with these size tires, I am looking at doing the same. Thanks in advance if you do.
