While lowering my 2003 Denali over this past weekend, I noticed my tires are getting a little worn.

I have looked at Tire Rack and Discount Tire and see all the reviews of different tires.

I would rather hear it from peeps that have the same vehicle that I do and your experience with the tires. I have the AWD 6.0 litre motor. I do not try and burn the tires off. What I want is a smoother quiet tire that is enjoyable to drive on with a luxury SUV and something that will last a little while as well.

So let me hear about your experience with the Faulken, Pirelli, Goodyear, etc.

Thanks everyone!

I know JK, just had some NEXEN tires installed on his Hoe. From his review, he seem more than pleased with them.

i am in love with Hancook's. I am running 295/35/24Rs on mine. I also ran Hancook's on my 1998 Blazer that I lowered. Even with the HORRIBLE camber that I had on that truck they were in good shape after a cross country drive. Take a look at those.

Nitto 420s is what I'll run when I get some 22s. Might buy them for my 20s as a summer tire even, really good traction esp in the rain. Also check out those nexens that JK bought, seem to be a really good tire for the money.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I just got back from TK Performance HOPING to get an alignment.

Apparently, the "tow" is out on the rear. He said that it is because I lowered the vehicle and it is not the factory setting. I know that I am no GM Certified mechanic, but I don't see how this could even be possible just from putting springs on the rear.

So appointment made with the Stealership at 7:30 in the morning to get it aligned. So we shall see how that goes as I obviously dont want to put new tires on it until I have it aligned.

Another day in paradise!

The alignment shop you went to is feeding you a line of sh!t. IMHO, they just did not want to do it, prolly cause they'd make no money on it. There is no way the toe can be out in the rear. Caster, camber maybe but not toe.

P.S. Do not tell the stealership what the alignment place told you, they will use that against you and try to sell you sh!t you dont need.

Yea I figured as much that they where. I wanted to tell him that he is an F'ing idiot, but I refrained. For a shop that sells lowering kits and all kind of custom wheels, it is nuts. All he kept saying was that I needed to take it to the Cadillac dealer. After that was said about 5 times, I finally corrected him and told him that it is a GMC Yukon not a Cadillac.

The dealership is only 40 more dollars so I do kinda feel better about it because of the fact they have worked on the Yukon's and Tahoes before.

I will post again tomorrow to let everyone know what the outcome was.

I did my alignment with a buddy at work, sh*t is simple as hell. I might use specs from a silverado ss next time (little different caster split and toe-in) but any shop should only charge you $60-$100 for an alignment even with the drop. Doesn't anyone in your area drop trucks on a regular? Seems ridiculous that you can't find a good shop to align your truck.

Update!

I just got back from a local Chevrolet dealer after getting my alignment done. WONDERFUL JOB!! Granted it cost me $143.00, but there isnt a lot of places that have the ability to align vehicles with aftermarket wheels this size.

I dropped the front 2 inches and the back 4 or 5 inches.

I will get some pictures of it later on and post. So far, I am happy with it. I have not had to do the free travel mod yet as it is riding good where it is at.

More to come!
