I'm looking to change out the terrible 3.08 gear set in my 13 LT Tahoe. I was wanting to change the whole front axle assembly out for a 3.73 in an 07-09 model. Everywhere I look it says 07-09 isn't compatible with 10-13. Is only only not compatible because 10-13's weren't available with 3.73 or because it actually won't work/fit/bolt in? 07-09 Tahoe front ends fit 07-13 Silverado's and Sierra's but not later model Tahoe's?? A Randy's Ring and Pinion rep told me it couldn't be swapped but I just don't believe that. To swap out the 3.08 in the front requires a new gear set and new carrier plus install which is significantly more expensive than a low mile junk yard axle. Anyone have any hands on experience with this?
