Hi all,
I recently purchased a 2011 Tahoe. After being parked for a few months I took it out for a ride and noticed the volt meter was reading 15+, seemed high so I put my volt meter on-15.3.? Did a ton of searches to discover the variable rate chargeing system on this vehicle. Most people seemed to be concerned when it drops below 14, not much info on when it is above 15. Just went on a trip , 8 hours on the way there it was a notch above 14. On the way home, it was above 15 for several hours. Made a stop for a few hours and the drove another 4 hours and the voltage stayed at 14. I read somewhere on this forum how the variable system works but not much info on what parameters would tell the systm to charge at 15+ volts for so long. Any one else ever had a charge so high for so long?
