Based on historical pricing incentives and timing...does anyone have an idea of when in 2009 the "bigger" incentives may start to kick in on the 2009 models. Obviously towards the end of the model year is the probably the best time to buy the out-going year...but wondering if GM does any kind of early or mid-year incentives that are even close to their year-end incentives.

I know right now there is $5k off the 2008's and $1k off the 2009's (plus any addtl red tag savings). Any idea of when/the earliest the 2009's might have a similar incentive? Also looks to me like the 2009's have a higher starting invoice compared to the 2008's (looking at an LT2).

I bought a 2007 Tahoe back in NOV'07, and made the WORST decision of my life and sold it this JUL due to gas prices. Luckily I had $3.5k worth of GM points and sold it at a pretty decent price...so didn't get killed there. But I miss the Tahoe and the wife is bugging me to get another one...so I have decided to when the price is right. I won't tell you what I bought when I sold my Tahoe (Audi A3) in fear of being banned. Trust me...I hear it every day from my friends and my wife.

I think I am going to wait to the 2009's come down...since I prefer the 6spd transmission (my 1996 tahoe had the 4spd...and it failed at < 100k miles, same with my Dad's 2000).

Appreciate any insight you may have.

He said he made the worst decision of his life because he sold it.
