This is my sisters Tahoe and in park/neutral the engine is quiet. You can rev the engine lightly or hard and it sounds fine. When you put the thing in drive or reverse it starts slowly sounding like a diesel. All kinds off clattering. The noise comes and goes and the engine occasionally stalls. It has no power at all. There are no codes and no check engine light. I used a stethescope earlier and the sound is the loudest all over the oil pan, bell housing on the trans, and the exhaust near the engine. Its quiet up top and the timing chain cover is quiet. She even tried to power brake the engine and the pedal was on the floor and the engine sounded like it was just barely over an idle in gear. Hopefully someone else has ran across this. Thanks in advance.
