Hi Everyone,

I have a 2007 Tahoe that’s been giving me problems with the “Service Stabilitrak†and “Reduced Engine Power†mode and I’m trying to better understand how to pinpoint the problem. This happened a year ago and I replaced the throttle position sensor (the one on the side of the throttle body) and everything was fine until yesterday when the problem happened again. I tried to replace the same sensor but the issue is still there. In looking at some of these forums, as well as GM’s service bulletin on this item, I think the issue could be with the throttle body. I also noticed that some people resolved this issue by replacing the sensor at the gas pedal…how do I know which one is bad?

I cleaned the throttle body (which wasn’t too bad) and I’m still getting the P2138 error code.

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

I have the "Service Stabilitrack" warning on my -10 Hybrid, and it's the steering wheel position sensor. Warning resets/clears when turning ignition off, and comes on again when steering wheel is turned past 180 degrees either direction.

This does not sound like your problem though, as I don't get the "Reduced Engine Power" warning, but might be a contributing part?

The mechanics at my GM dealer here have replaced the sensor, and reprogrammed everything again, but it still fails. Frustrating, but hope they get it fixed before snow hits the ground here! :)
