I have the 4.8 2007 Tahoe and I am really lacking acceleration. I have put on airbox, hypertech tuner, and flowmasters and there really is no difference. Eventually I am going to put a supercharger in this beast but I want to see what the biggest set of gears will fit in this thing. I don't drive highway that much at all so running high RPM's on highway doesn't bother me...

So what gears would you reccommend for a 4.8 Tahoe to improve acceleration?

Don't forget about the torque mgmt that makes the truck a little doggy off the line.

4.10's are very good overall.
The 4.8L is also well suited for a supercharger application due to its low compression and short stroke.

Dave can probably explain better but the computer keeps the engine from producing full power when you floor it. I know it uses throttle by wire and maybe retards timing initially, not sure about that.

$3K for any blower is awfully cheap. Check Procharger and Vortech.

Yeah they're pricey, but if you want something a little cheaper Turbonator and Tornado make a "farced" induction unit for just a few $, but it probably won't make the same (read: ANY) power... I'm playin.
