2007 tahoe lift gate problem

So I have a 2007 tahoe ltz, and the button on the outside hatch will not work. The remote will open and close the gate, and the button on the inside will open and close the gate. The button on the hatch to close the gate also works. I'm wondering do I just need to replace the outside hatch button? Or maybe something else is wrong?
