Thanks to this site, someone informed me where to find the critical removal points
What follows is how I reused the stock mounting enclosure in my process of working on a very limited budget to replace a speaker that wasn't working. Please don't laugh at what I used. :Whoa: It sounds tons better than what was there. Hopefully this will help another first timer.
TOOLS I used to make the process go smoothly.
7 & 10mm socket with 1/4 ratchet & 6" extension
Small and medium sized slot srew drivers
Masking tape, and 4' small rope and 18" high support box
Utility knife and key hole (drywall narrow point) saw
Soldering equipment and 2 lenghts of 2 colours of electrical wire
16 wood/metal screw 3/4" (does 4 speakers)
Cut wheel or dremel to trim speaker tabs
PROCEDURE:
By the door handle and door pull there is a small trim piece that pops out with the small screwdriver to reveal the 6mm bolts holding the inner panel to the door frame. The door lock pull has a small tab that pops forward to release the pull which then easily lifts off.
On the front door by the mirror is a triangular trim piece that pops inward while still remaining attached to the lower panel. Tape off the door frame above this piece to protect the door frame from the metal tabs scratching during removal or install.
