Hello to all.
I have a 2007 Tahoe that has 47k miles and the Low Oil Level message keeps coming up. The first time this happended, I just added a 1/2 quart of oil to bring the level up to the top hole on the stick and the message went away. Now three weeks later, the message is back. I relplaced the sensor this morning and after I put oil back in, the message is still there.
I have just under 40 as a reading at idle on the pressure gage. Will this message go away after some driving?
Will this message cause the computer to shut down the engine even though the pressure looks fine on the gage?

Thanks

2007 Low oil level: at Idol

I'm having problems myself with oil pressure. Has a pressure of around 30 when Idol, If i Idol to long I will begin to hear lifters ticking. It will achieve 40+ only after the block heats up to temp. Been doing research on the oil pump, high pressure bypass valve which sounds like its sticking open for some reason. Did a flush to clean it out which improved overall pressure but still sticks every morning. looks like I'll have to pull the oil pump, which looks to SUCK!!!:sad72:

Shouldn't cause the engine to shut down. Sounds like you need to check the disconnects and connectors. As long as the dipstick shows good you should be fine. So you get the fault as soon as you start up?
