HI... I'm fairly new to this site.

Great forum guys!

My question about the headlight bulbs on my 07 Yukon Denali...

I've changed the headlight bulbs and the turn signal bulbs just recently and found it to be a PITA. Initially, I was going to remove the headlight by taking the two fasteners on top of the headlight unit, but there seems to be, at least, another anchor point on the bottom that I can't really see.

I ended up removing the air box (I have a Volant CAI so it was a bit of pain) and removed one screw for the washer bottle on the driver side and accessed from behind the light unit (there were rubber covers/flaps behind the headlights also).

Anyone have any idea on how to remove the headlight unit or is this the only way you can replace the bulbs?

My biggest concern at this point is to change the front markers (the yellow wedge bulbs on the corner) and it's almost impossible to access the driver side one without removing the headlight. I think the passenger side one can be reached through the intake box vent hole on the fender.

I've searched this forum and other sites, but I wasn't able to find much about this. Strange...

Thanks ahead for your replies.

If it's like the Tahoe you may have to acess screws behind headlight housing by goin through wheel well. On the Tahoe you take out the inner liner to the wheel well to access remaining hardware.

Thanks for the reply!

That makes sense. I haven't thought about that. I'm sure it's the same way to access on the Yukon.

2 questions, though.

1. Will I be able to reach the bottom fastener for the headlight assembly from the wheel well?

2. Is the liner pretty flexible?

Thanks.

Yes you can reach the bottom fastener via the wheel well. It is a 10mm bolt you have to loosen. You will also have to remove all the 10mm bolts at the top of the grille as prying it back makes it easier.

The liner is flexible enough, but it will help if you turn the wheel inward on whatever side you are working with.

You will need a 7mm socket (2 locations).

It also is much much easier if you have a trim "fork" tool that you can buy from the parts store to remove the liner pins (5 locations I think). If you buy one, but the one with a slight prying angle to it. It's much easier than just using a screwdriver.

This link is for a 07 tahoe, but you will find it very useful.
