Hey everyone, new (old) Tahoe owner here. Also new to this forum although I am on other similarly constructed forums for other brands. My search only found a 3rd row removal for 2015.

As mine (ours?) is a 2006 (and a few years prior) series, it seems the attachment for 3rd row is different than the 2015 photos. Before I do damage I am hoping one of you folks might have done this already....

It looks to me like there are only two bolts holding the plastic surround down; and possibly the whole pair of seats (they seem to be a single unit to me).

Most ideally they would simply unclip; but I did not find a lever or such for this. I do not (yet) have owners manual, so can't look their for guideance. The online .pdf of the owners manual didn't appear to me to have a section about this.

Two closing points:
1. It is entirely possible this has already long been answered, and I'm simply ignorant on where this information is.
2. I'm a forum newbie; I ask for your patience with me.

Regards,
Jim

Update - they simply unclip!

Curiosity continued. There was a reference in the 2015 removal post about older models having seats that would unclip rather than unbolt. Even though my 2006 is new to me; it took me a bit to conclude I have and "older model". :)

Sure enough, all I had to do was open rear hatch, fold backs forward, then seat forward. And there is a sort of a wire handle. Pull that, plus the handle at the fold (back of seat bottom) and it pulls right out. Almost too easy! :smiley-face-popcorn

So they're out ready to stow in one of my high up storage cubbies in my garage. Likely I'll never have occasion to use them.

Side benefit I notice now that they are out; with middle row folded forward I have a nice flat floor. I can imagine sleeping overnight there when I have occasion to travel. Typically it will be me, my trailer (race car inside) heading to tracks; so a place to stretch out will be nice. I am adding WT covers to the side windows so I can crack open windows for air.
