Ok so I went into doing some research because I want to remove my mec. fan on my 96 yukon. I've seen the power that the 2006 silverado/sierra dual electric fans have. Now I see many post on this forum and others that this swap has been done. However I've never seen pictures of it done on the 96-99 yukon. Has anybody done this and have pictures to show? I think the fans will fit because researching radiators online it seems the 96-99 yukon shares the same dimensions as the 06 silverado radiators. Can anyone provide any insight or pictures of this swap? Thanks!

Dual Fans

I know that you where looking to convert to a larger stock one off another vehicle but here is this one I found...This is the setup that I personally am looking at running

Here is one from FlexaLite:

Some Product Information On The Fan:

"FLEXALITE DUAL MONSTER ELECTRIC FAN, BLACK -- 15 in. fan diameter, 17 in. x 31-7/ 8 in. x 4-1/2 in. overall dimensions, 8 blades, 3300-5500 cfm, 12-28 amp draw; Puller type; With built in control box with adjustable thermostat, A/C relay and variable speed control; Offers up to additional 27 h.p. and 20 lbs.-ft. of torque improvement while delivering 1-3 mpg of increased gas mileage; A powerful twin fan in a compact package; Designed with one piece glass-reinforced nylon molded shroud; Variable speed control operates the fan from 60-100 percent; Airflow flaps allow maximum ram air cooling while fan is not operating; Generates cooler A/C output and extends water pump life; Allows greater control of fan operation; Universal brackets adapt to many large vehicles; With Flex-A-Lite's Limited 1-Year Warranty."

I was looking at upgrading my radiator to this 3 row instead of the OEM 1 row that comes in the vehicle. They said with the extra 2 rows in the radiator that it will help keep the truck running a lot cooler..

3 Row w/ EOC w/ TOC Performance Racing All Aluminum Radiator For 5.0 5.7 V8 GAS

Technological Specification:
Vehicle Notes:
Core Size (in) approx:: ALUM (34 x 16-7/8 x 2-1/8) - 3 Rows.
Tank:: ALUMINUM
Weight (lbs) approx:: 22

You can also upgrade your thermostat for around $40 to a Jet Performance One Which will allow your thermostat to open around 180 Degrees instead of factory one opening up around 195 Degrees.

I currently run a 170 thermostat I got it from autozone for under 20 bucks. The only issue with the flealite fans is the cost. They are from what I hear good fans t have, but cost is super high. The 2006 and up GM dual fans have major power. I live in a place that gets 105+ degrees and have friends that have this setup in there 99 silverados and cools the truck easy no problem. It also makes th a/c blow nice and cold. The reason for the upgrade is I live near the Mexico border and sometimes we have 2 hour lines to cross into th U.S. The fan clutch just doesnt cut it. I really hope we can get some pictures up if any. If not I will try to get a hold of some fans and see how they mount up..
