2005 Tahoe Transmission Problem Wont shift to Third

I have a 2005 Tahoe 4x4, I was driving on highway and came to a hill, stepped on the gas and it revved high and would move VERY slow, seems that is not shifting from 3rd-4th. Am I looking at a complete rebuild? or does this sound like something else?
