Hi I'm Scott from Fort Worth TX. I actually own a 77 el Camino and enjoy working on cars. A lot of my friends come to me when their cars are having problems and I do my best to help them out. The latest friend has a used police 2004 Tahoe. There's no owners manual and I can't determine what engine it has. The engine is hemmoraging oil from the back side and it's running down onto the top of the tranny and down the back. The rear main, oil pan, valve cover and intake manifold gaskets all seem fine. I'm guessing it may be a bad oil pressure switch/sending unit. Although the gauge reads normal until a ton of oil has leaked out.
I'm here to see if I can determine the type engine using the vin number and your expertise on locating the leak for certain and the proper repair.
My friend is un employed for now but is very generous and gives people rides to doctors appointments and other important places. He deserves something nice.
