I took my Tahoe to Aoutozone to get code. The code P0174 and P0171. It's saying that Bank 1 and bank 2 fuel is running to lean. Suspect is a fuel codition or fuel pressure or a MAF sensor. Has anybody ran across this and if so, what was the fix. Autozone said they suspect that it is the MAF sensor. Could this sensor make the engine run lean? Could extreme cold weather also be a cause (-3 to -15F)?

Thanks for your help!

Some common causes MAF, an air leak in the MAF to thottle body, an intake leak (most common) sucking air, and fuel pump.

Using a can of carb cleaner or propane, go around the perimiter of the intake, what you are looking for is a difference in idle. If a difference is noticed, chances are your intake is leaking and gaskets will need replacing.

If you're a bit DIY it's not to hard. It's best to be 2 to put the intake back on to avoid breaking the new gasket. I've done it a couple of times when installing LPG and it's not difficult. I'm not much of a DIY so I think you can do it. :)

are there any do it yourself guides on the web about changing this gasket? that includes part numbers and tools needed. I'm having the same problem with my girlfriends 03 hummer H2, it has 97000 miles on it. my friend and I have done a lot of work on cars but this is one thing we have never done and we want to be very cautious.
